Thank you,
Shoelaces
For always keeping me knots
Well, no not really
You help to keep my shoes on
So they don’t become unruly and wild
Go running off, leaving me barefoot
Dragging every morning
Through the mud and puddles
Until I am tripping, tripping
Over you to find myself
Fit to be tied and I am always fumbling
Tugging and pulling
Until I give up and shove you down
In my shoes
So maybe I am not really thankful
But yes I know, I know
You are always here
Untied and dragging along with me
Day in and day out
