Steady Strum

The chill nestles into my legs

and I wrap myself up in layers

of healing and scrolling screens.

I am unable to move

with cold rest in bones

so I find sanctuary in tangled sheets

and piles of pillows.

I wait for the steady strum of pain

to fade into a low hum

in my muscles, so I can learn

to move through pinpoint ache.

Minutes and relaxation

are therapy

for a broken body,

so I let the hours tuck in my pain

and set it to slumber

allowing me back into my body

once again.
