I am an Artist

I mute myself to the background

of my friendships; I am

the supporting cast in my own story.

I rather be the last row spectator

than the frontline sparkling hero.

I enjoy watching

life spin around and around

almost out of control.

I like to be the reporter

collect up the day in tidbit quotes

while my inner photographer

presents an exhibit for my hours.

I guess I have always known I am an artist.

Always the observer;

recording every day in my stoic gaze

and half smirk attitude.
