I still dream that I am a rockstar
standing on stage
in front of a crowd full of cheers,
outstretched arms, and twinkle dance eyes.
I still dream that I am a rockstar
standing on stage
in an auditorium
with my voice an anchor as my words float.
I still dream that I am a star
standing in the middle of the dark
with the glimmer of constellations
a spotlight upon my smile.
I still dream that I am standing
for hours without a cane
and I am not in pain
or held hostage by my legs.
