Dandelions are the flower of love.

Their bright yellow tops

are mini sunshines blooming

across lawns and meadows.

We gather them up

into schoolyard’s bouquet

and hold under our chins

to gather love’s glow

in a soft golden highlight.

Then grind their yellow petals

into our skin, so to smear

in their gentle touch,

and love can find a way to creep

up our skin to form smiles on our faces.

And in an encore, dandelions

shed their yellow tops for fuzzy crowns;

so they can send their seeds

with kisses and fan mails

to spread love

across the countryside.
