Ode to the Moon

her soft glow
finds me
through the blinds
she tucks her
gentle light fingers
beneath my chin
this is how dreams begins
she whispers against my lips
I hold out my hands
so she can place
stars upon my palms
pull them to my chest
and they are warm
each one rumbles,
twinkles as a shooting star
and the moon
she giggles
at my surprise
when they take off
mini comets, a firework show
bouncing within my eyes
she whispers against my ear
close your eyes quickly, before they escape
I follow her request
fall back into my bed
she pulls clouds around me
then fades back into the night sky
