When sleep comes
I will no longer be exhausted
My mind chatters into the morning
In a long winded conversation
That leaves me irritated
Sleeping is pulling me to bed
As if it could lure me to slumber
With warm blanket and darkness
But look at me
Clanging at my keyboard
In a dark room
A mad scientist hard at work
Trying to find the right amount
Of purpose and hibernation
But my brain, holds me hostage
In an amusement park of thoughts
And I look helplessly at Sleeping
Wanting an answer, a solution
I wanted assurance that soon
All the voices would quiet in my head
Sleeping was snoring away
Leaving me alone
Contemplating rest and thoughts
By the soft glow of my computer screen
