Quarantine Poetry Day 53-Slow Motion

The fire consumed

Our gaze

And the masses

Moved in slow motion

Crawling over horizon

A sea of people

Tidal waves crashing

Into the media’s view

Pain and anger flaring

In outstretched arms, screams

Wanting to burn down the system

That justified death in narrowed views

The fire engulfed

Our gazes

And the city burned

Loudly in their shouts

If you listen

You can hear the wailing

The slow motion

Of mourning families

Washing over the city

Tidal waves crashing

A sea of people

Voices, a fire echoing

Along city streets
