Quarantine Poetry Day 31-Abrupt

Summer left in haste

with the abruptness of his goodbye

Left me speechless, he took

my last words briskly

they stumbled across the road

discarded leaves scrapping along the gutter

and he never even looked back

chilled, I clutched at the memories

liked an oversized blanket, hoping to feel secure

the feeling fleeting, absquatulated

with his name from my tongue
