Feasting on Neon

Words, electric
and this city clatters upon my lips
crackling the traffic of hands
I will wander, swaying in time
with the neon signs
I find myself trying to blend in
press my skin against concrete
and just blend in
push myself into a dark corner
and just blend in
I want to immerse myself
into the surroundings
so they wrap around me
and my heartbeat becomes crowded voices
my pulse the thundering of feet
I feel the city roaring inside me
howling, its language
electric upon my tongue
some would say the city devours
but today, I feast
