Goodbye is a weight
pulling on my heart
but as I watch
the world falling apart
all I have
is goodbye to cling to
stretching up, up, up
sometimes
when the bridges are burning
you need to escape
before the flames consume every inch
gripping the sadness
for it recognizes the importance
you once had in my life, validation
fluctuating in emotion
I will press my grief, bright blue butterfly
pin it down, so I will remember
as I turn and find my way out
