Cimmerian

Cimmerian
1. very dark; gloomy: deep, Cimmerian caverns.
2. Classical Mythology. of, relating to, or suggestive of a western people believed to dwell in perpetual darkness.

The darkness stretched out beyond the hills
Trees reached up with gnarled fingers
Footsteps echoed in the distance
These cimmerian nights
Seemed to have taken over these days
The light was in your name
Flickering in coat pocket
Lighting a way home
So I wouldn’t get lost
In the black of the night sky
