1. Also called portmanteau word. Linguistics. A word made by putting together parts of otherwords, as motel, made from motor and hotel, brunch, from breakfast and lunch, orguesstimate, from guess and estimate.

Blurred the lines
Until I meshed day and night
And found common ground
As the language
Flowed easy off the tongue
And we visited this new place
So it was routine
We knew where to go
To see the sun and moon
At the same time
Soon, you said
Putting up two fingers
Pointing at the sun and moon
And the V of your fingers
Found a home upon each surface
Peace lingered upon our smiles
As we watched both set into the horizon
