Warmth

Time for a big, fluffy sweater
Pull on your oversized jacket
And wrap around your neck a scarf
The cold air tickles my nose
And leaves lips chapped
Fingertips and toes numb
As cold and wet sinks
Into your bones
Layers upon layers
You search for warmth
From the growing cold
Drenching the horizon
In muted grays
Saturating us in endings
As we what for
A new start
To sprout, bright green
From the blankets of white
