Lemonade (Repost July 2016)

Biting upon my tongue
A little tart and very sweet
Cold as it slips down my throat
Lemonade, a liquid sunset
A bright yellow slowly fading against the rim
The ice clinks at the top
Tiny islands, I rattle with a smile
My own personal earthquake
Drinking it down
Allowing it to rumble as it falls
I imagine I am drinking the sky
Cool against fingertips
Clouds settling upon my lips
As the sun sets with every sip
