Time to stop and pay attention
For can no longer
Hide my head under the pillow
And think the world will be okay
Time to take action
Stand up and speak out
For battles are never quiet affairs
But are rumbling disasters
That leave you shaking inside out
So time to stop and pay attention
Don’t let tongues lie limp in ignorance
Or minds dwindling toward numbness
For we can no longer
Hide our faces and hope for fairy tale endings
