The Somber Fashion

The sky decided to in gray
And I must say
The somber fashion
Bunched at her feet
And I held my tongue
Because she wanted to look beautiful
Without the sun
Even if just for one day
She could forget the curve of his smile
Her arms hung limp at her sides
And her whispered sigh
A cool breeze against my neck
The clouds gathered and gossiped
The divorce had been finalized
But she kept repeating
He would only be gone for the winter
Tears decorated the corner of her eyes
She slumped
And the somber fashion
Of her exit
Roared upon my ears
For she never stopped being beautiful
Even if he stopped calling her that
