Club Dancing

I used to dance in the club
Every weekend
But now the people
Jar my nerves
Until I teetered
With sore feet and bruised ribs
Slurring words, a soundtrack
For ragged nights
And I found myself exhausted
With trying to remind
Every stranger, my name
So careless we become
When people were pressed against walls
Shadows shifting and dancing
And I missed dancing
My friends
The hours chimed in my head
As I found my own dance floor
In my living room
