Good Girl with a Defiant Tongue (Inspired by Panic! At the Disco)

Fifty words for murder and I’m every one of them
–Victorious by Panic! At the Disco

I have always been told
To be a nice girl
A good girl
But defiance has always had a home
Upon my tongue
Chaos hovers over me
As I chase after trouble
Falling is the moon, and I collect its pieces
Tuck in my coat pockets as loose change
And let the night jingle out a lullaby
The world burns down around
Swaying bodies flickering energy
And I watch the flames dance upon skin
Skipping all the way home
Dragging the night sky with me
And later I will pluck the loose stars
From the threadbare clouds
Smiling, I find myself comfortable with the misfits
With their crisscrossed stories
And I steal a few shadows for the night
Come morning I will forget their names, their faces
And continue on my way
I have always been told
To be a nice girl
A good girl
But defiance has always had a home
Upon my tongue
