Medusa

Harsh, her features
Chiseled into stone
Her mouth caught in a snarl
And her snakes frozen
In a twisted tangle
Framing her face
Fixed in rage
Watching from the wall
She hung over me
Staring down in her quiet judgment
She held a cruel beauty
Held my secrets
Guarding them in her fanged mouth
Ready to sink her teeth in
And to capture my mystery once again
