Explosion

The sun fell
Exploded into the horizon
And bled
Orange and yellow
Across the sky
Color seeped upon my skin
In crisscross patterns
Weaved it into the evening
Danced as the sun fell apart
Leaving the day turning black
And night festered
With the moon a gaping wound
I pulled the sun’s colors close
Hummed one final song
Then danced, allowing my feet to mourn
A much simpler time
When innocence glowed upon my face
And I hadn’t been broken apart
