Friendly Echoes (National Poetry Month Challenge 19)

19. Close your eyes and listen to the sounds around you. If the sounds are peaceful, write a poem with
a violent word as the title. If the sounds are loud, write a poem with a kind word as the title.

Voices echo
Conversations layering upon each other
Until your ears are overloaded
You catch pieces of words
Syllables that tumble off sentences
Press them together
Creating your own dialogue
A script of strangers
And you direct the scene in your head
Tailoring your own gossip, storyline
With your overactive imagination, a companion in a crowd
With tongues clattering and voices competing from attention
