Dry Mouth (Repost January 2016)

Dry mouth, when writing
Is dangerous
For your fingers stumble over each other
And our ideas
They catch in your throat
Lips crack into incomplete sentences
And running your tongue
Over them again and again
Doesn’t meld them into paragraphs
Instead frustration sets in
Leaving you staring
At a blank computer screen
Until the screen saver flickers alive
Holding the keyboard hostage
You wait
And you wait
For something to spill from your fingertips
But, if I am unable to speak
How can I expect my hands to?
