Cupid’s Bow

Cupid has a cruel smile
Every time his heart shaped mouth moves
It breaks another heart
His demeanor nice, and his fashion cute
Making him perfect
A perfect predator
His hello an arrow
Flying through the air until it hits
Someone in the chest
Possessing their movements, they never see
Him sniping from the rooftops
Falling over in sequence
Until bodies cascade against each other
Dancing awkwardly, shuffling around each other
And he whispers in ears
This is love
A dance of stomping on each other’s toes, stolen blankets
And zombified stares
Manipulation in his goodbye
He saunters off into the shadows
With is bow over his shoulder
And twirling an arrow in his fingers
As he disappears
