Few Seconds Slower

Woke up
With body screaming
Out every year
My youth shattered on the floor
Leaving old bones
To carry me around
Every night weighed upon shoulders
And every event I ran to
Only added pressure
Until morning
I was a jumbled mess
Fractured posture and aching tongue
With memories hanging off my fingers
Exhaustion tucked in the corner of my eyes
And someone telling me to act my age
With a crooked smile
I would say I am
Only moving a few seconds slower
