Feast

Alone at the dining table
With a feast
Stretched out before me
And I am not hungry
Every invitation
Not mailed
So no one knew
To show up
The food sat there
Wasting away
Shriveling in guilt and pain
While I sat
Staring at the wall
Waiting for the water to be served
For my thirst
Left my throat too dry
To say hello
So I sat in the company
Of my shadows
Unable to say
Goodbye
And the only sound
Was the ticking of the clock
