Time calls my name at midnight

Half asleep

My fingers rest on the keyboard

Head slump forward

My eyes no longer awake

The haze of the day settles in the corners

I dream until eyes roll back

And time whispers in my ear

My age hangs on me like a ball gown

Explosion of sparkles swirling around and around me

In the color of gray hair

Flowing away from my body

Resting my hand in the palm of time

Twirls me around and around

Trip over my feet

Crashing into a few seconds before midnight

Time clicks out a snicker

Swings me across the room

Catches me before I hit the floor

Time whispers in my ear

Sleep, for I will be there with you in the morning
