Mother Goose tucked the children in
With all the rhyme
And some reason
She always had stories
Neatly hidden up her sleeve
In case, they needed to learn
To hear a moral
Captured in a ditty
All the children
Gathered at her feet
Wanting another character, another lesson
Delivered with caution and laughter
For she told them
This was her life
Colorful in character and plot
Sometimes the greatest lesson
Came from listening to elder’s tales
And understanding their perseverance and mistakes
So Mother Goose delivered them nightly
To eager boys and girls
Preparing for a good night’s sleep
