Overcast

The clouds have consumed the sky

And leer over me

The gray hangs on my shoulders

Hunching over with my consequences

Regret is always close

Blowing through my bones

Whispering out my crimes

I am unable to speak

Silence is my only ally at this moment

For words seem to be my greatest vice

I want to curl up within my remorse

Hide away from the gloom

Building and shifting above my head

As it becomes darker and darker

Until I am suffocating on my crimes

I know the truth of my actions

I know the message of my lies

Yet, I keep hoping

The sun will break through with forgiveness

Or the clouds explode with the rain of my outcome
