Neon

The night is neon

A maze of words singing

Like birds

You live for questions

Ask the shadows

For they know the most secrets

Search the streets, they tell me

Late at night in the city

With the flickering neon, clicking heels

We all sing as we dance under dim lights

Each hello a new calling

Swaying and fidgeting

Drink away our problems and welcome trouble with a smile

Move closer

Share a kiss

Sip down each movement

We build these memories with words

Describe in neon highlights and half full bottles

Listen to the shadows

For they hold the most truth

Questions are always tucked away

In phone numbers and banter

The night is neon

And we are its fluorescent flock
