Stuck in the Middle (inspired by song by Boys Like Girls)

You push and then you shove,
You hated and you loved
You tried to switch it up
But you’re stuck in the middle
No matter what you do
You had it how you choose
Well either way you got to lose
When you’re stuck in the middle.
I guess this time I’ll wait it out

Caught on repeat stumble out of this one line story and the world is monotone in its monotony and I found a doorway to lean on closing my eyes I dream in daylight and remember when the world was vibrant and I felt alive

The hour is always 4pm and the traffic is flooding the road never able to move caught on the sidewalk squeaking through the same topic of conversation and I feel like I am spiraling even though I am standing, and I wonder if you ever check your messages

Fumbling through the day sleeping hours on one sleeve at a time and how can I feel like I have so much to lose but nothing to show for it and I wonder if you are waiting, waiting as I am teetering at the edge of the evening coated in fluorescent lights and fractured pick-up lines

Set fire to your picture and scour my skin in the flame wondering if you will remember to feed the fish and the day is started with the right key revving up my tongue and I collect the world in my back pocket folded and faded and I feel stuck in the middle

Caught on repeat stumble out of this one line story and the world is monotone in its monotony and I found a doorway to lean on closing my eyes I dream in daylight and remember when the world was vibrant and I felt alive
