Chasing after rainbows and shooting stars
When fairy tales
Could be found in the wrinkles
Of every tree
Was the echo of every sprite
Were the boom of thunder
In the evening sky
Laying on my back
I would trace out a history in clouds
Catch myself on a sparrow’s wing
Take off into a new world
Imagination was my greatest friend
And I was an explorer everyday
I remember the magic
Before I had to grow up
I still want to run with the wind
Chase after lightning
Even though I am caught in a black and white world
I close my eyes
And the constellations come alive
So here is a list of themes I am considering… let me know what your thoughts are….
100 words or less
Music that is in the background
Songs that Inspire me
Bodies in Motion
Love and Hate
So for year two.. I am thinking about doing weekly themes. That way to place a challenge and help me push my limits. So I considering obscurity and entanglement as themes… any suggestions? Please post some suggestions for themes. I am also considering updating my page appearance.
So it has officially been a year. 365 new poems, over 2000 views and one blogger award later… I plan to keep writing, but I now also face the next big hurdle… publishing. I am looking into publishing in literary magazines and websites, plus looking into what it would cost to attempt to get a small poetry book published. I am also contemplating reworking my site and making it a little more me and less template.
I want to thank everyone for reading and giving me feedback. I am planning to keep the writing up, but the next week I will just reposting the best of this last year. Also.. I am thinking for the next year of adding a new challenge… weekly themes, so if you have suggestions.. please give me a heads up.
Please keep up with the feedback and keep reading. I appreciate the support, and with 365 poems… don’t be afraid to tell me which ones you prefered… I definitely need the help
Thanks again! And, here is for Year 2!

Excuses is all you deliver
At this five minute parade
Lies were your only forte
And you are surprised
When I don’t react
I look through you
And I remind you I saw you
For whom you were
Long before the monthly announcement
So stand there
Hands open, and mouth wide
Keep speaking, speaking
For ghosts can’t talk
And I have already walked through you
So 2012 has come to a close and I am good chunk into my year commitment to write a poem a day.. well roughly at least post a poem for each day of the year. I decided as an added bonus I would go ahead a repost some of the more popular poems on my blog, so new readers can get a chance to look at them and long time followers can get a nice recap. I will be posting new stuff as well so definitely keep reading and giving me feedback. Thank everyone for reading and following my Poetic Trials.
Okay so this isn’t a poem entry.. mainly to give a little update. I am at my 228th entry I believe, and I figured I better start sorting. This will help me later when I am attempting to get some of my work published. So to keep with the Virgo habit of organization… I started a few new categories. I will probably start a few other categories as the days go by, but hopefully these help you explore some of my older entries as well as the new. Thanks again for reading and as always.. i love the comments and guidance.
And if you need help with what poems are in these new categories:
All Greek to Me-Mythology poems
Emotional Weather-my weather poems
Fairy Tales in a Modern Age-my new rendition of old Fairy Tales
Lyrical Inspiration-Poems based off songs and literature
