Who will be your pretty little enemy?
When I’m gone, your world will prove empty
I promise, you will always remember me

—Deranged by Coheed and Cambria

My goodbye

Is my suicide note

Outline framed in your eyes

These words will linger on tongue

Until they spill forth a scene, a scenario

You and me

Are the main players, and we had to learn

When to take a bow at the right time

When time combined and seconds were in excess

Clattering at our feet are these fights

Until they gather forth a moment, a memento

You and me

Are the main collection, and we had to learn

To shine in each other’s smile and our names

Shimmered on the surface, but deep down

Sinking is this love, drowning with our anger

Until they gasp forth a division, a creation

You and me

Are the main dancers, and we had to learn

To waltz through this timeline

When the tears got caught on the musical notes

Seeping along abandoned fingers

Until they reach forth for a role, a rule

You and me

Are the main villain and hero, and we had to learn

The best escape route to avoid our shadows

Leap over the growing resentment, and we fly

Farther and farther away on bitterness wings

Until they fall forth into a story, a memory

You and me

Neatly folded and pressed, I will lay it on the pillow

For me this is my freedom, and the villain exits stage right

You the hero will be left alone pondering the dialogue, waiting to bow

I know you will always love me, and someday

You will learn there is more to you than my memory
